Beginning on Leverett Road, this course will take you through both the paved and dirt roads of hilly Shutesbury. The course ends on a big down hill at the Shutesbury Elementary School.

This event is a fun and meaningful way to connect with the community while supporting a great cause. After years of dreaming, planning, fundraising, and community building, the new Shutesbury Public Library is finally becoming a reality. Set to open this fall, the new library reflects the heart and hopes of our town.
More than just a building, this library is a gathering place—a home for learning, connection, and discovery. It will feature a community meeting room for up to 50 people, display space for new and seasonal materials, and a growing Library of Things, including life vests and paddles for the library’s innovative kayak loan program.
With dedicated rooms for teens, children, and adults, the new space is designed to be welcoming and accessible for all. The Spear Family Adult Reading Room offers expanded collections and two cozy seating areas, while a small study room provides a quiet place to read or work.
In the children’s room, little ones will find expanded shelves, soft seating, and spaces to play and grow.
Our goal for this year’s Turkey Trot is to raise $20,000 to put the finishing touches on the new library’s outdoor spaces, including an engaging play area for children.
This new library is a testament to Shutesbury’s belief in community, imagination, and the power of shared knowledge. We can’t wait to welcome you through the doors.
